Fame, If Not Fortune

So that was all rather interesting…

Someone from Huffington Post stumbled across my blog and asked if they could interview me in an effort to increase awareness of transgender people as we really are in South Africa.

I am always happy to help, so I agreed.

If you are interested, please see the interview here.

Hope you enjoy.

  1. Congratulations on the interview. I am surprised you did not take the interviewer to task for their assumption that just because someone is trans* equals that they must be gay. It was clear in how their question about you being married came across. Reading this interview, and I know it may be a bit of a cliche, but your experiences pretty much parallel mine. Being facinated as a child by my mother’s make up routine, facinated by her shoes etc. Experimentation in early to late teens, denial in my 20s and a re surfacing in my late 20s / early 30s and final acceptance of who I am by the age of 36. I did try to share with Mrs M but it was a clumsy attempt that did not go at all well. Ended with “if you do, I don’t wish to see or know”.
    Thanks for sharing this post.

  2. I thought it was a nice artical. I have shared this on my fb. I hope you dont mind. We need to be out there showing the public we are just the same as anyone else just getting on with our lives. 😉

  3. I loved the article. I also love how comfortable you are being a trans woman. My wife also recently discovered my love to wear women’s clothing and although she accepted it after much discussion, she also told me that she doesn’t want to see me when I am dressed. I admire your wife for her acceptance and understanding.
